This stock medical exhibit depicts a left dorsal wrist mass and ulnar nerve entrapment with surgical repairs in a series of illustrations. The first illustration shows the post-accident condition in a palmar view of the left hand, including entrapment of the ulnar nerve in Guyon's canal. The second illustration shows the post-accident condition in a dorsal view of the left hand, including a dorsal ganglion cyst. The third illustration is the first step of the procedure, portraying a longitudinal incision over the ulnar aspect of the wrist. The fourth illustration depicts Stevens scissors dissecting free the ulnar nerve. The wound is irrigated and covered with gauze. The fifth illustration shows the excision of the cyst, beginning with a transverse incision over the dorsal aspect of the wrist. The sixth illustration shows the excision of the cystic mass. The wound is then irrigated and then both wounds are sutured.
