Bard Urological asked Nucleus to create an educational 3D medical animation for physicians that would show the body's active physiologic response following the placement of the Bard Urological Avaulta(R) Biosynthetic Mesh implant in the vaginal wall.

Solution

This medical animation begins with a view of the Avaulta mesh implanted in the body. Biofilm formation and circulation through the Avaulta implant is shown as the tissue's immediate reaction to the procedure. The biofilm triggers an inflammatory response, which is animated at the cellular level. Proliferation of replacement tissue is depicted, including the formation and organization of collagen fibers encasing the implant. Repair of the wound site is portrayed with the development of a new vascular network throughout the lattice of the implant.
